Kafka On The Shore | Haruki Murakami | Mesmerizing & Bizarre Dreams

And a thought hits me – the axis of time. Somewhere I don’t know about, something weird is happening to time. Reality and dreams are all mixed up, like sea water and river water flowing together. I struggle to find the meaning behind it all, but nothing makes any sense.

-Haruki Murakami

Kafka on the Shore

Solitude comes in different varities.

और अब पेश हैं – Haruki Murakami की किताब Kafka On The Shore से कुछ quotes-:

It's all the question of imagination. Our responsibility begins with the power to imagine. It's just as Yeats said: In dreams begin responsibility. Turn this on it's head and you could say that where there's no power to imagine, no responsiblity can arise.
Silence, I discover, is something you can actually hear.
Narrow minds devoid of imagination. Intolerence, theories cut off from reality, empty terminology, usurped ideals, inflexible systems. Those are the things that really frighten me. What I absolutely fear and loathe. Of course it's important to know what's right and what's wrong. Individual errors in judgement can usually be corrected. As long as you have the courage to admit mistakes, things can be turned around. But intolerant, narrow minds with no imagination are like parasites that transform the host, change form and continue to thrive. They're lost cause.
She found the right words by bypassing procedures likes meaning and logic. She captured words in a dream, like delicately catching hold of a butterfly's wings as it flutters around.
"We're all dreaming, aren't we?" she says.
All of us are dreaming.
"Why did you have to die?"
"I couldn't help it," you reply.
The most dangerous creature here would have to be me. So maybe I'm just frightened of my own shadow.
"Listen - there's no war that will end all wars. War grows within war. Lapping up the blood shed by violence, feeding on wounded flesh. War is a perfect, self-contained being."
